There's a particular kind of morning in Cayucos, California. The fog is still low over the Pacific, the air smells of salt and sage, and the world is quiet before the day starts. That's where By the Sea Apothecary was born.

We're a small-batch botanical skincare and wellness line made right here on California's Central Coast. Every product is formulated with 100% natural, non-toxic ingredients — because what you put on your skin and in your home matters, especially when you're trying to slow down and feel good.

What We Make

Botanical Mists. Distilled from real plant waters — cactus, jasmine, orange blossom, helichrysum — our face and body mists are lightweight, hydrating, and made to be used freely. Mist your face after a morning surf. Refresh your skin after a long drive. Set your intention before bed. Each one is named for a moment on the California coast.

Hand-Poured Candles. Five scents inspired by the rhythms of coastal life — a foggy morning on the bluff, a golden hour at the pier, a weekend that stretches out forever. Poured in coconut apricot wax with cotton-core wicks and clean, paraben-free fragrance oils. No toxins. 50–60 hours of slow burn.

How We Make It

Everything is made in small batches so it's always fresh. We pour the candles by hand. We formulate the mists with care. We choose every ingredient deliberately — for what it does, not just how it sounds on a label.

The packaging is minimal on purpose. Frosted glass. Clean lines. Nothing extra. The products are meant to feel like the coast — quiet, considered, and genuinely good.
