Larimar is a blue you mostly see in water. This stone is faceted rather than left smooth, so it catches light in flat planes and throws it back, and the blue changes as your hand moves.
I set it in copper and gave it an organic, freeform band. Nothing on this ring is perfectly symmetrical, which is deliberate. A straight machined band would have made the stone look like it had been installed. The freeform band makes it look like it landed there.
- Faceted larimar stone
- Set in copper
- Organic freeform band
- Size 6.5
It is a size 6.5. It goes with bare feet and salt in your hair better than it goes with anything formal, and that is the point of it.
Larimar does not turn up often, and when it does it usually gets set smooth. Faceting it was a choice. It means the stone reads brighter and busier than a polished cabochon would, and against copper that comes off as playful rather than precious. There is one of this ring, in one size, and that is the whole run.
