Copper Jewelry

Copper is the metal we come back to most, and it is the metal our customers buy most. If you have ever wondered why a small coastal boutique is so committed to it, there are three reasons.

More about copper jewelry

It takes a shape nothing else will. We build most of these pieces by electroforming — growing pure copper atom by atom onto the object itself in a bath carrying a low electrical current. A real fern, a sea urchin shell, a shard of beach glass, a feather. What comes out has taken the exact shape of the thing underneath it, down to the veins on a leaf. Casting cannot do that.

It is kind to skin. Pure copper is naturally hypoallergenic, which is why our cuffs suit people who react to other metals. It can leave a green mark on some skin — that is just the raw metal reacting, and it washes off.

It is alive. Copper darkens and warms into a patina over months of wear, then polishes back to bright whenever you want. No two pieces age the same way. If you like the idea of jewelry that changes with you, this is the metal. There is more about copper on the blog.
